Mayuko joined Australian National University as Lecturer in Japanese Language and Studies in January 2024. Previously, she worked at the University of Melbourne and University of Tasmania. Her current research focus is on Japanese women's experiences of emigrating to and repatriation from Manchuria from 1930s. Her research interests include Japanese History, History in North East Asia, Gender History, and Oral History.
