Llewelyn Hughes is Director of the Japan Institute and Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. His research focuses on the low carbon energy transition, with a focus on the Asia Pacific. Of particular interest are sectoral approaches that help create competitive advantage while effectively responding to climate change. He also serves on the Energy Transition Subcommittee of the Australia Japan Business Co-operation Committee (AJBCC), is Australia Focal Point for the Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN) of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Research Fellow in the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP), Johns Hopkins University - SAIS, and a member of the Executive Committee & Council for the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS).
