2027 MEXT (Japanese Government) Scholarship – Undergraduate & Research – Applications OPEN

The Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology - MEXT) offers the following scholarships to Australian Citizens who wish to study at Japanese universities.

Undergraduate Category

The Undergraduate scholarship is generally offered for five years, including one year of preparatory study in the Japanese language and other subjects. Opportunities are available in various fields across the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural Sciences. Benefits include full tuition coverage, return airfares, and a monthly allowance of 117,000 Yen (subject to change).

Research Category

The Research scholarship is offered to those who intend to obtain a master’s, doctoral, or professional graduate degree in Japan. (A six-month Japanese language preparatory course will be provided if deemed necessary). Benefits include full tuition coverage, return airfares, and a monthly allowance of 143,000 Yen (subject to change).
