A Tale of Two SICs: Industrial Development in Japan and the United States in the Late Nineteenth Century

Dr John Tang will present his paper, 'A Tale of Two SICs: Indu strial Development in Japan and the United States in the Late Nineteenth Century' at the Centre for Economic History's Topics on Asian Development, Past and Present conference.

The Centre for Economic History is hosting an interdisciplinary workshop on Asian development research from both a historical and modern economics perspective. Topics range from technology adoption in Meiji Japan to Protestant activities in pre-war China to entrepreneurship in present day Vietnam.
