Classic Japanese Film Series - Waga seishun ni kuinashi (No Regrets for Our Youth)

The Department of Pacific and Asian History and the ANU Japan Institute are proud to present a series of politically, socially and artisitically significant films from Japan during the 1930s-1960s.  The series features the early works of five of Japan's greatest film directors.

Each film tackles the problems of daily life in modern Japan. Matters of sex, power, duty, familial bonds, and personal awakening are explored through each historical epoch. All films are English subtitled.

The second film in the series is the 1946 film, わが青春に悔なし(No Regrets for Our Youth) directed by Kurosawa Akira.
