2014 Japanese Studies Graduate Workshop

The 2014 workshop builds on previous ANU Graduate Summer Schools and aims to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge essential for the research and publishing demands of a career in Japanese Studies today. This is an opportunity for leaders of the next generation of scholars to network with their peers and veteran scholars at the leading university for Japanese Studies in Australia.

Workshop Program

>>Panel discussions: hear from veteran academics in your discipline.
>>Writing workshops: read your peer’s papers and give constructive feedback.
>>Academic keynotes: get a broader understanding of the latest in the Japanese Studies field.
>>Masterclasses: for advanced level postgraduates with the opportunity for possible publication in the Japan Foundation’s journal for upcoming scholars, New Voices.
>>Join Asia Pacific week: join us prior to the workshop for the premier Asia Pacific event of the year. Asia Pacific Week 2014 will be held from June 23-26. More information is available at asiapacificweek.anu.edu.au.

This workshop is an invitation only event for exceptional graduate candidates from any discipline who identify as Japanese Studies scholars. Interested students and universities should contact the Japan Institute for further information on the nomination process.

Successful nominees will receive a travel scholarship subsidising airfare and including on-campus accommodation.
