Assessment of L2 speech prosody: A production and perception study of native and foreign-accented Japanese

The speech of non-native language learners can vary in many ways from that of native speakers. It has been proposed by previous studies that prosodic cues are one way in which second language (L2) speech patterns differ from those of the typical native (L1) speaker (e.g. Munro and Derwing 1995).

Two Moons Over Europe: Translating Haruki Murakami's 1Q84

Anna Zielinska-Elliott was educated in Poland (Univeristy of Warsaw, MA and PhD) and Japan (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, MA). She is a translator of modern Japanese literature into Polish and teaches Japanese language, literature, and translation at Boston University.

被災地での活動 外国人支援および心理社会支援の実践について

略歴 John Morris 1973年にANUのAsian Studiesを卒業したのち、1974~1984年から東北大学文学研究科で日本史を専攻し、修士、博士課程を修了した。1986年に文学博士(日本史学)となる。1989年から宮城学院女子大学で「日本文化論」を担当。専門は、日本近世史、特に仙台藩の研究である。1991年から宮城県の外国人問題に参加し、2006年から宮城県の多文化共生政策に参加してきた。また、地元の歴史遺産保存運動にも参加し、現在、宮城歴史資料ネットの理事をも務めている。震災後、さまざまな支援活動に係わってきたが、とくに外国人支援のあり方について問題提起を続けている。
