Nikolay Murashkin
Nikolay Murashkin is a scholar of contemporary Japanese foreign policy and international relations in Asia Pacific. He is working for ANU as senior lecturer for the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs. Nikolay's research outputs were published in his 2020 monograph ‘Japan and the New Silk Road’, peer-reviewed journals, such as the Australian Journal of International Affairs and others, policy papers, and edited volumes, covering such topics as the nexus between diplomacy, economics, development and security in Japan, Asia and Indo-Pacific, the historical sources of Japanese foreign and economic policy, and the interaction between the Japanese state and the private sector. His research interests include Japan’s financial statecraft, development cooperation, history of modernisation, knowledge production and knowledge-sharing, as well as international political economy of connectivity infrastructure and finance.
