Japan Centre(Faculty of Asian Studies) The Japan Centre's aim is to equip students with the linguistic and cultural competence needed to function effectively in Japan, and the education to enable them to understand Japan in depth. The Japan Centre degree programs are open to undergraduate and graduate students taking degrees in the Faculty of Asian Studies as well as to students enrolled in other Faculties at the Australian National University. Australia Japan Research Centre(Crawford School of Economics and Government) The Australia-Japan Research Centre (AJRC) conducts research to explore and improve understanding of Australia and Japan's strategic interests in the Asia Pacific economy. Its policy-oriented areas of interest include developments in Asia Pacific economic cooperation integration and issues associated with the formation of an East Asian Community. This encompasses research on trade, finance, and macroeconomics, as well as international economic relations. Australian Network for Japanese LawThe Australian Network for Japanese Law (ANJeL) is an initiative of the law faculties at the Australian National University (ANU), the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Sydney (USyd). The core aim of ANJeL is to promote scholarly engagement with Japanese law, especially in Australia. The Australian Research Network on the Japanese EconomyThe Australia-Japan Research Centre in 2008 launched the first-ever electronic network of economists working on Japan. The Australian Research Network on the Japanese Economy, or ARNJE, was made possible through a grant from the Australia-Japan Foundation and was recently activated on the Australian National University's internet server. Research School of Pacific and Asian StudiesThe Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies conducts research on Japanese history and politics, and on Japan's relations with its Asian neighbours. Particular research focuses include modern Japanese intellectual history, history and memory in modern Japan, frontiers, migration and minorities. |
